Dress Down Friday

October 2016

Dear Parents/Carers,

Hobletts Manor Infants and Nursery School will be helping to raise awareness of EB during October this year in aid of DEBRA, the national charity that supports people affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) – the painful genetic skin blistering condition as we currently have a little girl in Ladybirds who has EB.

We are holding a #ShowYourSeams dress down day on Friday 21st October. The idea is for children to wear their own clothes inside out for the day to show their empathy with the issues children living with EB have in protecting their skin from simple things like the seams and labels on their clothes. We are asking for a £1 donation from each child to pass on to the DEBRA charity.

The money we raise will help DEBRA to continue to fund pioneering research into treatments to provide relief and, ultimately, a cure for EB. It will also enable them to continue to provide practical care and emotional support to children and their families currently living with EB. DEBRA provides an essential lifeline in coping with the devastating effects of EB.

If you would like to know more about EB or DEBRA, please visit For more details about the #ShowYourSeams campaign visit

We hope together we can help Fight EB!

Thank you,

Sarah Kelly
